White lightweight powder.It is combustible and self-ignition temperature is 900 ℃.Density 1.095g/cm3,Zinc stearate does not dissolve in water,ethanol,ether.It is soluble in organic solvent and acid,such as hot ethanol,turpentine oil,benzene and so on.It become jelly in organic solvents when heated and dissolved.It is combustible and it decomposes to be stearic acid and the corresponding calcium salt. |
Applications |
Zinc stearate can be used as lubricat and heat stabilizer in masterbatch system.Zinc stearate can be also used as stabilizer in PVC.When cooperated with chromium barium-soap,it is used in soft products.The characteristic is inhibiting the early coloring and avoiding sulfide pollution.
Zinc stearate can be teh plasticizing material of thermosetting plastic and polyester such as tyrene type(polystyrene and ABS,AS resin),phenolic resin,amino resin and so on.It is used as lubricant and release agent of transparent products and metal stamping processing.In the rubber industry,used as a lubricant and anti-sticking agent of the rubber and activator of vulcanizing push media.It also can be a textile polishing agent and paint and enamel smoothing agent.Also as a cosmetic ingredient.
